This is a five week course. Sugarpaste and modelling for all abilities. The theme for this course is our interpretation of the fairy tale 'Jack and the Beanstalk'. Alternatively we have a simpler cake with models of ballerinas.

If we cancel a course a full course fee refund will be given or the option to transfer to the next available course. No refund will be given if a student cancels the course less than 14 days from start date.

You will need to provide the course equipment shown:   Beginners will be able to borrow the necessary equipment from the school for their first course.

Course Equipment:

8" round marzipaned fruit cake required week 1, alternatively a cake dummy can be purchased from the school for £6.50 inclusive of board and box.

Sugar Paste / Modelling:

  • - Cake smoother
  • - Small rolling pin 23 cm or 9" long
  • - Sable paint brush, size 2

PME modelling tools:

  • - Teddy stitch tool
  • - Double ended ball or Dog bone
  • - Double ended scallop comb
  • - Wheel cutting tool
  • - Scribe tool


 All equipment available to purchase from local suppliers and from Penningtons School of Cake Artistry.

Choice of working on a fruit cake or a dummy cake contact for shape and size.
