This is a six week modelling and cake covering course. The course includes learning how to cover a cake using the icing, ‘sugar paste’ and how to make fun, character models and create a theme. The project for this course is our take on the lovely, autumnal tale of the childrens books ‘Bramley Hedge’.  Each  student will be encouraged to express their own creativity  in developing ideas towards the creation of this cake. Skills covered during this six weeks include: Sugar paste covering, 3D character modelling, colouring and general decorative techniques. Photograph for this project to follow shortly.

The course requires an 8″round approximately 4″ depth fruit cake  marzipaned which is required on week 2 of the course or as an alternative we can provide you with a dummy cake if preferred, dummy cakes will be available to purchase from the school for  £7.00 each on week one, which includes the cake drum and box.

This is a 3 week mini course to give an introduction to a ‘bit of everything’ !

During the 3 week course you will be taught how to make the on trend ‘Ganache Icing’ and learn to crumb coat on a provided 6″ sponge cake. Cover the sponge cake in the icing called sugar paste and create a professional flawless finish. You will also be taught some basic royal ice piping and an introduction to direct writing. The cake will be decorated with piping and unwired sugar Roses, which you will also learn how to make on this course.

This is  the  perfect course for someone who wants to trial cake decorating or simply brush up on their basic cake decorating skills.

All materials and equipment are provided for this course.

This is a perfect half day class to learn some basic decorating skills and leave with a delightful mini fruit cake perfect to keep or as a gift for someone special for Christmas. This course is ideal for a beginner providing some of the basic skills required in cake decorating.

Skills learnt during this class will be marzipaning, covering the provided cake with icing and modelling a cute cake topper to complete the cake.

An opportunity to learn how to create a delightful novelty Christmas cake using sponge and rice Krispies . The skills you will learn from this one day class are, carving skills, masking with butter cream, flawless covering in sugar paste and decorative facial features. The Reindeer’s head will be modelled using rice Krispie mix, covered using sugar paste to create this adorable cute face.

All materials are provided for this class including a light lunch.
