This is a six week modelling and cake covering course. The course includes learning how to cover a cake using the icing, ‘sugar paste’ and how to make fun, character models and create a theme. The project for this course is our take on the lovely, autumnal tale of the childrens books ‘Bramley Hedge’.Each student will be encouraged to express their own creativity in developing ideas towards the creation of this cake. Skills covered during this six weeks include: Sugar paste covering, 3D character modelling, colouring and general decorative techniques. Photograph for this project to follow shortly.
The course requires an 8″round approximately 4″ depth fruit cake marzipaned which is required on week 2 of the course or as an alternative we can provide you with a dummy cake if preferred, dummy cakes will be available to purchase from the school for £7.00 each on week one, which includes the cake drum and box.
