This is a six week modelling and cake covering course. The theme for this course is a cute toadstool house with a family of mice. The house will be shaped from cake and rice krispy. The teaching focuses on modelling figures, with character features plus many more decorative techniques in sugar paste to complete this project.
Skills covered during the six weeks will be crumb coating in buttercream, cake covering using sugar paste, making a rice krispy modelling mix, 3D character modelling and decorative techniques using modelling paste.
The project is on 6″ round sponge cake depth 5″ approx or a students own fruit cake (required week 2) or a dummy cake can be an option if preferred, available from the school.
A 6″ round x 5″ deep sponge cake will be provided for this course.
