This is a six week modelling and cake covering course. The course includes learning how to make a sofa using Rice Krispies as the base and completed with sugar paste for the detail. You will then be shown how to airbrush the sofa to achieve depth of colour and colour shading. Each individual student will then be able to decide on a topic for their cake, for example you could make a model of an elderly person or couple which could be a retirement or anniversary theme if you added a model of someone horizontal on the sofa this could be made into a couch potato theme or let your imagination go wild. Skills covered during this six weeks include: Sugar paste covering, 3D character modelling, airbrushing techniques and general decorative techniques. The course requires an 8″square fruit cake which you need to bring on week 2 of the course or as an alternative we can provide you with a dummy cake if preferred, dummies will be available to purchase from the school for £6.50 each on week one.

This is a six week modelling course. The theme for this course will be a jolly Father Christmas sat in an arm chair reading a story to his hard working Elves. Picture to follow shortly. Skills covered in this course will be flawless covering of the cake, seasonal character models, and a rice cereal arm chair. The project is on a 8″ square fruit cake (students own cake, required week 2) or a dummy cake can be an option if preferred, available to purchase from the school for £7.00. |
